The goal of Cultured by palo is to promote Africana culture through arts and history.

About the Founder

Paloma Dubois is an artist, cultural bearer, and scholar at Yale University. Born in Paris, France, with roots in Guadeloupe. Her work is a constellation of experiences focusing on the Black diaspora. She has engaged projects in Senegal, France, and the United States.
Combining empirical research and artistic expression, Paloma challenges the white gaze in narratives about people of African descent, exploring identity and cultural heritage. Her creations invite audiences to witness her experiences as she lived them, engaging deeply with her perceptions and emotions.

She thinks of her mission as bridging communities, from Haitian Vodou to Guadeloupe’s Carnival and Senegal’s Tabaski, her work celebrates the richness and interconnectedness of global Black cultures.
